This is the SV-51 Gamma from the anime series Macross Zero. An excellent release from Yamato with a combination of plastic and die cast parts and is 1/60 in scale. The SV-51 is fully transformable between all three modes: Fighter (Jet), Gerwalk (Partial transformation), and Battroid (Humanoid robot). This is the Veritech of antagonist forces in the series and face off against the U.N. Spacy's variable fighters of the VF-0 line of Valkyrie.
Over all this figure is very well put together and relatively sturdy, though should be treated with care. The details are clean and I find the paint scheme to be quite appealing. The fighter mode is the most stable of all three modes and is able to carry added missile parts on the wing hard points, but I chose not to added them due to personal preference aside from the gun pod mounted on the center line fuselage mount. The cockpit can open to reveal the pilot D.D. Ivanov who can be removed if desired. Gerwalk mode is relatively easy to transform to and in my opinion one of the more aggressive looking gerwalk modes of any Macross Valkyrie. Though less stable than the Fighter mode, it is able to balance nicely in this mode even without a stand, though a stand is provided that can support all three modes. The arms range of motions is quite decent, though they do limit the legs range a bit due to there location. Though that is not to big an issue due to the odd positing of it's limbs while in this mode. I'm quite satisfied with this mode on the 51. Battroid mode is a bit more stable than the gerwalk mode, but still less stable in comparison to the fighter mode. It's articulation is quite good over all, though due to the design, there really isn't a waist joint for waist pivot positions. The transformation is relatively simple after the first time. Note that if you are uncertain how to properly transform it based off the instructions that is comes with, there are tutorial videos on youtube [link] that can help you before you accidentally brake it. Finally, I'd have to say this is a great figure for the money. It may be on the expensive side, but I feel that it is worth every penny that I spent. Only thing that annoyed me about this figure was that the front landing gear doors are a tad loose. The gear doors will still close properly, they just hang a tad loosely when open. On an added note, this figure also comes with a great display stand. The stand allows for flight poses in all three transformations. The stand is able to hold various dynamic poses for the SV-51 in every mode as well. I feel that the stand makes this figure all the more worth it in the end. This is mainly due to the fact that only a few Yamato Macross figures actually come with one. Most do not come with one provided, so if a flight stand is desired, it must be purchased separately. |

though I like the veritech mode of a messiah better by far I like this one's fighter mode better~, the jagged design made it more agressive~
